Rapid casting

Using the latest advances in computer and material technology, Metang creates precision patterns for processes ranging from investment castings to sand casting，so-called metal functional part.
In the Investment Casting process a mold is created by repeatedly dipping a sprued pattern in ceramic slurry, which builds up a shell around it that hardens. The mold is subsequently heated to eliminate the pattern. Finally, molten metal is poured into the cavity where it solidifies. Once the cast object has cooled, the shell is broken and removed from the part.
In the Sand Casting process a mold is created by sand, which are universal used in foundry. With RP technology the sand mold are produced in shortly time. After the assembly the molten metal is poured into the sand mold. Subsequently cooling and the metal solidifies, the mold is broken and removed from the part.
